KURWA CHAUTH ...A fast for the hubbies

Kurwa chauth is an interesting festival,celebrated in North India. The fast is kept by all the married ladies. It usually falls in the month of october or November. It  is exactly on the tenth day after Dussera. Keeping  a whole day fast,without eating and drinking anything is the main feature.It is believed that by keeping this fast the husbands would  be bestowed with a long and healthy lives. There are many stories related to the fast. Not only fasting,the woman dress up in thier best. Mehndi is applied on both hands.
